Solitude Part I

I'm all alone today. Sharon and Huihua have to battle with FSA, so it's time I learn how to venture on my own. First stop - Carl Milles Art Museum @ Lidingo (oh yes, I've the cultural side too). It's basically a home cum art studio cum sculpture house of Carl Milles and Olga Milles. The house itself is small but the land area is pretty big and sculptures scattered all over the place. It has a sea-view too. Awesome! BUT

Letdown #1 The place was pretty run down and not all fountains were functioning. *sian*
Letdown #2 The weather was so so gloomy and the wind was so so strong that the cold ate into my bones *brrr*
Letdown #3 I finished the place in less than an hour, but I paid 60 SEK for entering i.e. S$12. *sigh*

Nevertheless, some sculptures were pretty interesting. My fav - the woman with perky breasts lying down, with her hand raised up. *hiakz*

Second stop - Ostermalmstorg. Nothing much, just shopping. But I saw something I really really like at Lagerhaus, which sells kitchen and home decor stuff; A pink mini bbq pit!!! It's damn cool. It's actually a metal pail, but has a circular grill over the top and at the bottom, a slot where u can put your charcoal (like those olden days stove where you brew the tonic). Plus it's so super portable! I love it! Unfortunately, it's hard to bring it back to Singapore and shipping it will still cost a bomb... Oh well!

Third stop - toilet break at Hallwyl Museum @ Norrmalmstorg. Haha! I refuse to pay 40 SEK for the English guided tour to see more ostentatious furnishings in the private palace, so I just went in to use their free toilet! *cheapskate*

Fourth stop - Kungstradgarden. Ole ole ole ole... Ole ole... Adidas and Xbox were having some launch event for the World Cup '06 game on Xbox. They had several stations for the public to play the game, courtesy of Samsung's HDTV too. *wahaha* They were also throwing out free soccer balls from the stage! I wanted to grab one! BUT it was a mad rush and most of the people clammering for the ball were young boys. So erm... I couldn't bring myself to fight with them. I might die of a stampede too. One of the ball flew into a tree, yes literally stuck there. Then a swarm of boys ran towards the poor tree and tried to remove the ball from it. At the same time, almost killing the poor teeny weeny tree.
(Sorry, I can't get the picture uploaded. Blogging is killing me!)

Last stop - Netto. I went to buy some groceries and on my way there I decided to take a photo of Sergels Torg 'coz the fountain was switched on! But the sky was really grey. Then after I came out, hands full of groceries, the sky miraculously was blue! I just had to take another picture!

That spells the end of my solo trip. Of course, I had a close shave with 2 flying pigeons (right across my face) to end it off.. *poof*

Uniquely Singapore - Back to my roots

The weather ain't getting any better. Dark and gloomy skies forecasted for the next few days. Guess I'll be stuck here surfing the web. It may be a good thing afterall...

Today, I've decided to plan out my bumming activities for the month of June and July when I'm back home (after Grey rejected my internship application 'coz I could only start work on June 19 earliest - too bad for them *hiakz*). You'll be amazed at what you can do in Singapore. It's much more than shopping, eating and Sentosa. Though no concrete plans rolled out yet, I'm definitely looking forward to the culinary class on July 1 with Jo, Wen and Sharon (confirmed so far). It's got to be fun!

I'm thinking of visiting St. John's Island and Lazarus Island & Sister's Island too. Bet you didn't hear of the 2nd islet before. Neither have I. *hee* So as I was saying, I'm gonna begin a journey of discovering Singapore - my homeland.

It's time I know more about where I live, where I belong... ;)

I miss home...

Here's to Singapore, my homeland - the first time I'm so patriotic, other than on 9 August. I miss home... my Twinkle, my Prince and my Royal family and friends...

Life is dilemma. On one hand, I can't wait to get home, to my Jumbo Seafood, Bedok 85, Fish & Co., and of course, the other love of my life, TV; Yet on the other hand, I'm so terrified of studying in Singapore. It's way way way way way too stressful. Everyone is so sad studying in Singapore... Seriously, I've not come across a person who enjoys the mountain of never-ending assignments and projects in uni. *sigh* Yah I know, training us for the hectic work life right? Rubbish...

So we spend more than half of our lives rushing through our studies (remembering probably only about 50% of what we were taught), only to find out that we've to continue racing for the next half of our lives when we're out there climbing the corporate ladder. What a sad life we have! Is it just Singapore? Is the grass really greener on the other side?

For now, I'll just enjoy the air of freedom and my last few days here in Stockholm, a lovely city.

Reality sucks...

Well, well, well... after much fun and fairytale dreams, I'm thrown back into reality. Spent my day doing the IBS take-home exam. Thankfully, it can be done in groups, so Sharon, Huihua and I combined forces. We're 75% done now! woohoo! We're leaving the 25% for tomorrow because we've reached our acceptable dosage of IBS.

Right now, we're waiting for our fellow Bridge kakee to finish his business and play with us! Hurry Shinji! Time waits for no man.

P.S. in case you've been scratching your heads over what IBS stands for, it is International Business Strategy. now you know...

The story of Nu Cai turns Princess (Part II)

Thanks to Huihua, I don't have to spend time posting the details of what went on during my birthday. Just check her out her blog :P

I am dead beat: Had IBS presentation for almost half the day (painful wait for my turn to present), then went to have some yummy ice-cream at Gallerian, followed by a search for THE INDIAN KING - where Sharon and her CCM groupmates had lunch once a few months back. We had craving for some hot hot curry you see...

After much effort, we found it! The food was yummylicious!! I had curry chicken (similar to the extremely spicy curry that Huihua and I had in Vilnius) and garlic naan. SHIOK!

And the night was still young... we played Bridge with our Japanese/Brazilian neighbour, Shinji, when we came home. It was exhilarating! Note to Sharon: I AM NOT THE LOSER. YOU ARE. Another round tomorrow? *hee*

Oops... I forgot there's still IBS TAKE-HOME EXAM. Save me... my fairygod mother(s)...

The story of Nu Cai turns Princess (Part I)

What an eventful day! I'm dead beat... but I've to post this entry.

Thankew my dear frens, Sharon and Huihua, for planning a wonderful and exciting birthday for me - I was PRINCESS for the day. This is one that my memory won't fail me... it'll be safe up there! *hugz* I won't forget you too, baby. Thankew for being such an adorable loser!

I need sleep badly (coz I was toiling the night for this blog). If I knew, I wouldn't have dragged the both of them into baking with me. The poor girls barely slept last night (coz they were busy preparing for my birthday celebration). *another hugz*

The Cinderella story will continue (tabole tahan)... thanks again to those who remembered. I love ya all!

*IBS presentation later today. May the stars be with me.

I'm back! From chicken chop to lalala, I never grow up!

After a long hiatus, I'm back in action. For long? I'm not sure, but I'll certainly try (yah rite, I wanted to give up barely an hour into this after I saw the programming stuff).

Anyway, I used to blog with the alias Chicken Chop (no, it's not my favourite food; it's 'coz of my lack of creativity then) and now after 5 minutes of brainstorming, my new blog title - "everyday is lalala". I know it still signals a lack of creativity, but trust me! I know what I'm doing this time... Whenever I'm happy, I'll add "lalala" to my msn, so I hope everyday will be a "lalala" for me and the people I love! *muackz*

Of course, it's also a special day for me! *hee* I'm 22! lalala... My dearest baby, with the help of Sharon and Huihua, gave me a pleasant surprise at 12am Singapore time (6pm Sweden time). Though there were a few miscommunications in between (my baby, now loser pp), it was a hilarious attempt anyways... And a lovely gift that I couldn't complain about - jia ba lang (odd combination) flowers :) Thank you my dear...

Then, later at night, I had the sudden craving to... not eat, but bake!! Yes!! I pestered Wen to find baking recipes for me, given that we only have egg, flour, sugar and salt here. And she gave me lotsa recipes, which I narrowed down to 2 - simple shortbread cookie http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1610,147160-241201,00.html and super simple peanut butter cookies http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1910,146170-255192,00.html (went out to ICA supermarket specially to buy peanut butter - deprived of it for the past 5 mths here). The end result? Check out Huihua's blog. I'm sure she'll post it! It tastes quite good actually, though it wasn't very successful.

By the time we finished baking, it was already 12 midnite. So yes, I was crazy, but I had fun! Hope Sharon and Huihua enjoyed the baking too! :) Sorry to hear that Huihua is having a headache now... time to sleep babe... *yawn* I need my bed now... Ciao for now!

May tomorrow (or rather, today) be a "lalala" day too! Nitez!
