Solitude Part I

I'm all alone today. Sharon and Huihua have to battle with FSA, so it's time I learn how to venture on my own. First stop - Carl Milles Art Museum @ Lidingo (oh yes, I've the cultural side too). It's basically a home cum art studio cum sculpture house of Carl Milles and Olga Milles. The house itself is small but the land area is pretty big and sculptures scattered all over the place. It has a sea-view too. Awesome! BUT

Letdown #1 The place was pretty run down and not all fountains were functioning. *sian*
Letdown #2 The weather was so so gloomy and the wind was so so strong that the cold ate into my bones *brrr*
Letdown #3 I finished the place in less than an hour, but I paid 60 SEK for entering i.e. S$12. *sigh*

Nevertheless, some sculptures were pretty interesting. My fav - the woman with perky breasts lying down, with her hand raised up. *hiakz*

Second stop - Ostermalmstorg. Nothing much, just shopping. But I saw something I really really like at Lagerhaus, which sells kitchen and home decor stuff; A pink mini bbq pit!!! It's damn cool. It's actually a metal pail, but has a circular grill over the top and at the bottom, a slot where u can put your charcoal (like those olden days stove where you brew the tonic). Plus it's so super portable! I love it! Unfortunately, it's hard to bring it back to Singapore and shipping it will still cost a bomb... Oh well!

Third stop - toilet break at Hallwyl Museum @ Norrmalmstorg. Haha! I refuse to pay 40 SEK for the English guided tour to see more ostentatious furnishings in the private palace, so I just went in to use their free toilet! *cheapskate*

Fourth stop - Kungstradgarden. Ole ole ole ole... Ole ole... Adidas and Xbox were having some launch event for the World Cup '06 game on Xbox. They had several stations for the public to play the game, courtesy of Samsung's HDTV too. *wahaha* They were also throwing out free soccer balls from the stage! I wanted to grab one! BUT it was a mad rush and most of the people clammering for the ball were young boys. So erm... I couldn't bring myself to fight with them. I might die of a stampede too. One of the ball flew into a tree, yes literally stuck there. Then a swarm of boys ran towards the poor tree and tried to remove the ball from it. At the same time, almost killing the poor teeny weeny tree.
(Sorry, I can't get the picture uploaded. Blogging is killing me!)

Last stop - Netto. I went to buy some groceries and on my way there I decided to take a photo of Sergels Torg 'coz the fountain was switched on! But the sky was really grey. Then after I came out, hands full of groceries, the sky miraculously was blue! I just had to take another picture!

That spells the end of my solo trip. Of course, I had a close shave with 2 flying pigeons (right across my face) to end it off.. *poof*
